Tonight felt like one of those tiny magical moments that sneaks into your heart without warning.
I woke up to the soft glow of my ring light flickering on and off. At first, I was confused… until I realized my little brown tabby had discovered the button and was carefully tapping it with her paw like she had unlocked some ancient secret. Click. Off. Click. On.
Then she looked directly at me.
Not the accidental kind of eye contact either — the very intentional “excuse me, human, I would like your attention now” kind.
The second she realized I was awake, she climbed right into bed and curled herself into my lap, demanding cuddles and sweet pets as payment for her late-night light show. Of course, I gave in immediately.
There’s something so healing about moments like that. No phones. No stress. No rushing. Just a sleepy little tabby, soft purrs in the dark, and the reminder that love can be as simple as a tiny paw pressing a button just to wake you up for affection.
Honestly, I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
